Building community resilience

Building community resilience

Communities in rural areas, particularly in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) face challenges associated with biodiversity loss, poor food security and declining local incomes.

Rafiki Kenya will promote nature-based solutions to enhance benefits to people, nature and climate so as to enhance future resilience among the communities by working with vulnerable groups, particularly women.

“Nature-based solutions are actions to protect, conserve, restore, and sustainably use and manage ecosystems in a way that addresses social, economic and environmental challenges while simultaneously benefiting human well-being and biodiversity” – WRI
